A Boggy Gassy Bubbly Quartet
To conclude the CO2RE UKRI-funded Greenhouse Gas Removal project, all seven artists were invited to install their commissioned work at the University of Bristol Botanical Gardens.
To extract a work from the larger, ongoing project, When Peat Speaks for the gardens and the four-day Science & Art event, I devised a collaborative performance.
The live data from the degraded bog in the Cambrian Mountains beamed into the Botanical Gardens in Bristol, as Matt Davis responded with wild, wonderful and wilful discordant sounds on his trumpet to Owen Lloyds complex layered and intricate pre- recorded and live digital composition made from Richard Gott’s field recordings from the bog and the Boggy Ensemble voices – Angharad Davies, Yumino Seki, John Butcher, Matt Davis, and Miranda Whall.
