6th September – crawl five – Blobbed out

The 5th Crawl..a steep descent down the south side of Pen Lan Fawr towards Clog.

I managed the distance I had hoped in the 43 minutes of battery life, but oh my was it tough, I kept thinking “this is definitely not what the human body was designed to do” I looked terribly ungainly clambering down there, huffing and puffing and I was so worried about the Go Pro’s falling off, turning off on their own, breaking etc..I only thought at the end that I could have broken my wrists or fingers on the rocks as I collided into them with all my body weight. The stone wall at the bottom was like a mirage – constantly inching away from reach, anyway I did reach it, so thats that bit done..

Hannah Mann as always took many beautiful photos, always capturing my experience in a way that surprises me, I love the moment when I finish crawling and she finishes photographing and we come together to see how our experiences might meet, there is always such a huge difference between what I felt and what she saw, or what and how the camera saw.

I love this series of photos – of white blobs! I didn’t feel like a blob or think I looked like a blob, but indeed I must have been.
